Tower of Evil

The party scouted around the wailing tower, finding a zombie ogre and a skeletal ettin. Unfortunately, the wailing appeared to be affecting their minds, and Eby stood dumbfounded as the zombie ogre closed the distance to engage her in battle. With support from Grixl, Tael, Lillith, and Gwenefar’s ghost, the undead were destroyed. Gwenefar and Eby searched for an entrance into the tower, and found no doors at ground level. Eby began climbing the tower, and reached an entrance on an upper level. To her surprise, upon reaching the opening, there was an invisible wall of force protruding out from the opening. Eby was able to climb around the wall and up into the tower, and was suddenly attacked by an invisible being. Eby was able to land a few solid blows, against all odds, on the invisible creature as the rest of the group followed her up the tower. From the center of the room was a round opening, leading further into darkness and the base of the tower, from this flew an undead creature, cold malice leaching the very life from the group as the fighting escalated.
The party was able to defeat both the invisible creature and the undead necromancer, and found a huddled group of half starved people, kids, and zombies in the base of the tower. It appeared to be a zombie creating and training area. The children were gathered, and fed, and Tael made them some make shift clothes. Tael was also able to locate some ghost rock and began working on the ritual to restore Gwenefar to her body and life. Over the days the group stayed in the tower, a horde of orc zombies appeared to take notice of them, and gathered at the base of the tower, clawing at it’s walls. After restoring Gwenefar to life, the group decided rather than climb back down and sail for home, they would pass through a magical portal that was in the shrieking tower. As they passed through, they tumbled out into a snow filled woods. After determining their surroundings, Gwenefar was able to scout out a path leading down the forest mountain. Upon reaching the break in the trees the party located a makeshift battlement and further from this hamlet, a camp of tents and gnolls. The group was set upon by a gnoll war party and captured. Upon questioning they were unable to determine what was happening, but were taken as spies and Grixl was executed by a war leader. Enraged, Eby broke her bonds, picked up her discarded axe, and set upon her captors. The group eventually fought their way free, and fled towards the make shift battlements. There the group was met by several of Eby’s tribe, who had set out to find her and her father, as well as the towns people who had fled a meteor strike within the town. They explained a strange coldness growing from the rock strike and the incursion of the gnollish force.

Closer to a Ghostrock Goal

The party arrives at on the shores of Karak, but not unnoticed. An ork fleet was spotted off in the distance and their sails turned to meet the wind and bring them to the ship.
Using the magic of their elven folding boat, reverted their elven ship to a large acorn, and dropped into the surf.
and make their way inland. Gwenefar started scouting out roads, paths, or signs of life, or in this case unlife while the rest of the party began setting up camp. Finding a lava tube, they made their way inland. That evening they were set upon by orc merchantmen. It appears that one of the ships had located them ashore. The party was able to successfully defend themselves and made short work of the orcs. The party located a section of the lava tube filled with poisonous gas, but were able to circumnavigate it. The following day the party encountered a ghoul scout group that attacked them savagely, but again the party was triumphant.
As they came clear of the lava tube high above sea level in rumbling mountains and volcanoes, they spot a tower full of shrieking holes, guarded by an ogre zombie.

Dinosaurs, Catfolk, and Lizardmen

The ladies awoke on the sandy shore of an island, and had to avoid being giant crab food. Recovering some supplies and their weapons from the surf they realized two things, that Grixl was naked, and Rosie was missing. They found some tracks leading into the jungle, but they appeared to be Owlbears. The only sign of Rosie was a torn and bloodied piece of her coat.
Gwenefar tracked a path into the jungle and they were attacked by a pair of raptors.
Gwenefar was able to befriend one of them and the group killed the other before it could make them it’s meal. They also found a catfolk who had been attacked by the raptors and healed her wounds. She spoke an elven dialect, and it was decided to return to the ship wreck where they had left Grixl and Maheem to build camp.
Maheem had recovered one of the spider silk sails from the ship, and they had build a makeshift shelter and fire.
Tiyeri, the catfolk they had saved from raptors, explained how elves had been a powerful force long ago on their island, but had returned to their homeland.
The group split up, Gwenefar and her new raptor pal continued to track Rosie and Owlbear further into the jungles, while the rest of the group went to the catfolk encampment.
Gwenefar was appraoched by a lizardman scout, but was unable to understand him. Following him, he led her to a massive ziggurat and lizardman village. Here she was able to speak with a shaman and discovered that lizardman scouts had seen owlbear and tracked him to one of their temples. Gwenefar set out to the temple while the rest of the party escorted Tiyeri through the jungle she helped them avoid some larger predators, and they made their way to a valley of giant centipedes. The party attempted to evade the centipede attacks but Maheem was poisoned and killed. Finally arriving at the catfolk enclave, the group was able to finally get some much needed rest.

The ladies began their plot for mutiny against the pirates, plotting with their fellow crew and captives. Now that the crews had been divided between two ships running on skeleton crews, the ladies were being worked to exhaustion.
Eby was sent below to clear out some bilge rats, but found that it wasn’t rodents, but a group of pirates with knives set upon her. Eby made quick work of these thugs and discovered that Master Plugg had arranged the assassination attempt on Eby.

That afternoon a storm rolled in, and Scourge finally made an attempt to rid himself of Eby and her friends. As the storm raged, Eby and Scourge battled on deck. As Eby brought her blade down dealing a killing blow to Scourge, lightning struck the mast of the ship.
The ship caught fire and began to list heavily.
The remaining crew awoke on the beach of an unknown shore, the ship run aground offshore, and their clothes in tatters.

While ridding the bilges of giant rats, the crew noticed a hidden cache, and upon opening the door to it, found a smuggling compartment filled with different animals, including a beaten, and masked Grixl. The crew fed Grixl and summoned some water to quench his thirst, and promised to help him escape.
That evening Eby fought Owlbear in a boxing match, defeating him soundly and winning the purse fronted by Scourge.

The following day the crew underwent piracy training, and was knocked about as they attempted to board their own ship with rope and hooks from a nearby lifeboat. Eby and Rosie again prove their climbing abilities, while Lillith and Gwenefar struggle to climb to the ships deck as rotten fruit and detritus are thrown at them.
A few days later the ship spots a target and piracy commences. It is decided Eby will lead the boarding party from her performance during the previous boarding training.
As the Tempest closes in on the vessel, it is clear that it is not a human but a Kossite vessel. They board the ship and fight several thriae. During the fight Gwenafar shouted warning to Captain Harrigan, and was rewarded with an amulet of armor.

Booty was distributed and a skeleton crew was assigned to the newly taken ship, the Amber. The crew were instructed to take her into port to be sold off and Captain Harrigan would then meet Scourge at port Blood.
Eby and Lillith smuggled Grixl aboard the ship in a chum barrel and the ships parted.

Press Ganged Pirates

The party awoke aboard the Tempest, kicked awake by Mr. Plugg, a bald and angry young man. Checking themselves over they seemed no worse for wear, but a little groggy from being drugged. They were also weapon and possessionless.
Captain Barnabas Harridan addressed the group of newly press-ganged sailors and advised that even with these new sailors, they were short handed and any attempt at killing another sailor would be dealt with by keel hauling. Aby assessed the situation, and ralized they had already been at sea for hours, and they were too far from shore to make a swim for it. They also noticed a few others from the party the night prior, also apparently drugged and brought aboard, including “Barefoot” Samms, Aretta Banyon, and Rosie Cuswell.
Mr. Plugg set about assigning the new recruits jobs, and the first test was to have them climb the rigging to the crow’s nest. Eby and Rosie made it no problem, and were given jobs as riggers. The rest were assigned the job of swab, and learned what back breaking work really was.
Gwenafar excelled at rat catching, and proudly displayed her bucket of rats she had caught and killed. And during the evening hours they mingled with the crew, making friends with Rosie and Big Dill, while Lillith used her demonic whiles to befriend Patch.
The group was then sent down to the bilges to clear out some giant rats, and with the help of the axe Rosie had re-acquired for her, made quick work of the vermin.
